Over the years Norfolk Community Television has changed to meet the needs of a more technological world. Many people don’t realize this is more than just a public access channel. We offer technology support of all sorts, and members are welcome to use our equipment and software for free! NCTV staff is also happy to help people with everything from how email works to teaching Photoshop.

We love when members learn production skills from us and then use those skills to produce content for NCTV channels. We want people to have a voice within the community and we try to be a platform for anyone with something to say. We understand though, that someone might not be ready to put their hands on a camera when they walk through the door – perhaps they want to learn some computer basics first. We are here to help all skill levels!

Aside from one-on-one help, we also hold events and workshops. Our workshops cover a variety of topics, and we hold a monthly film discussion group and a screenwriting group. We want to share our knowledge with others. People are also welcome to host their own workshops and events here at NCTV.

As time passes we know it’s important to stay relevant to the needs of the community. We know that technology will keep changing, and we’re along for the ride. Here at NCTV, we’re always open to suggestions, and we want to know what people would like to have access to that we can provide. So while we encourage people to create their own videos, film events, and volunteer to help on shoots, we also want to be a valuable resource beyond that.

Keep in touch, we’re on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram, you can contact us more directly by email or calling/texting, or you can stop by the studio. We would love to hear what programs or resources you would like to see offered at NCTV!
